Workspace Parking takes advantage of the superior Marquis Parking technology that has been archiving Avid projects in the media production space for the last several years. It provides ‘set and forget’ business continuity assurance.
Workspace Parking offers three backup recovery options:
- Any version of any project can be restored in its entirety
- Any bin(s) from any version of any project can be restored to any existing project
- Any workspace can be restored to any new workspace
Workspace Parking provides tier 2 storage backup of your selected workspaces. It determines which projects reference which media and adds the project files to the backup, along with any additional media that those projects need (AMA or on other workspaces). The media does not get duplicated even if used by multiple projects.
Workspace Parking offers flexibility in the sense that it can be set so that it runs at particular time periods, for example just on the weekends. The backup is stored in a simple, open folder structure, which provides ease of understanding. All copy operations whether present in or out of the backup are MD5 checksum assured.
Each time that Workspace Parking updates the backup, any pending new media and new projects are added. Projects that have been modified are updated and stored as a new version. This means that the user is still able to access previous versions in the backup. Completion of backups can trigger SMS or email alerts.
