Vutrix adds colour temperature control to 40" TFT LCD Displays

Vutrix announces the incorporation of colour correction in its range of 40" TFT standard and high-definition LCD widescreen displays for the professional display market.
The displays now incorporate picture processing that adjusts the internal gamma response of the screen to a standard curve as expected in the professional display industry. In addition, control of colour temperature is also incorporated to enable adjustment to the most frequently used settings of 5400K, 6500K and 9200K.
Coupled with Vutrix's Pixel-to-Pixel image processing technology for deinterlacing and scaling developed in conjunction with the BBC R&D Department, the displays provide the most natural and life-like images available on the market today.
Aimed at picture quality-sensitive applications within the broadcast, professional and high-end home markets the screens are suited to the most demanding video display applications. The displays offer a pixel format of 1280 x 768 and 10-bit video depth using fast, 8mS TFT response glass to eliminate picture smear and input capability including SDI and HD-SDI, DVI, as well as component, S-Video and composite. The inclusion of backlight intensity control enables the screens to be installed and controlled in a variety of situations and adjusted to suit.

All TFTs have inherent non-standard gamma response and a naturally hot colour temperature that does not match well with video source devices. Grass and wedding dresses in particular tend to have an unnatural blue hue. Our video processing technology overcomes these issues to provide colour response that meets the expectations of users and allows TFT displays to be used in the most image sensitive applications, delivering appealing images that relate more closely to real-life colours".
